This document shows "where the numbers come from"--a complete manual structural analysis of a typical truss created in the West Point Bridge Designer (Version 4). The solution includes (1) the structural model, (2) a complete load analysis, (3) a statics analysis, to determine member forces for one position of the truck loading, and (4) a strength evaluation of each member.
